Funders and policymakers

The purpose of the project is to facilitate coordination between the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) initiatives in the Nordic and Baltic countries. The aim is to harmonize the provision of national policies and services in accordance with the agreed EOSC standards and practices as part of the EOSC portal. At the same time, the aim is to consolidate the Nordic and Baltic countries as pioneers in the adoption and implementation of the EOSC concept, principles, and services

EOSC-Nordic provides updates about how to achieve the best possible usage of digital data to benefit the economy and society. EOSC-Nordic also supports the EOSC and regional efforts to harmonise policies on research data.

 

Benefits of EOSC-Nordic

Funders and policy-makers need to be aware of the development of the EOSC policy framework, but also play an active role in its development in the Open Science landscape. EOSC-Nordic aims to increase the understanding of open science, political decisions, and the resources needed for building the required infrastructures.

EOSC-Nordic provides the following:

  • Updates about how to achieve the best possible usage of digital data to benefit the economy and society, and support the EOSC and regional efforts to harmonise policies on research data.
  • Insights about the delivery of horizontal services and access to related resources in a cross-border environment in order to build a sustainable EOSC.
  • Insights and advice in legal restrictions from creating EOSC in the Nordic and Baltic context.
  • Help in the facilitation of the discussion around EOSC’s future in the Nordic and Baltic context.
